【摘要】:Absorbeddoseinamaterialisanimportantparameterthatcanbecorrelatedwithradiationeffectsproducedinelectroniccomponentsanddevicesthatareexposedtoionizingradiation.Reasonableestimatesofthisparametercanbecalculatedifknowledgeofthesourceradiationfield(thatis,energyspectrumandparticlefluence)isavailable.Sufficientlydetailedinformationabouttheradiationfieldisgenerallynotavailable.However,measurementsofabsorbeddosewithpassivedosimetersinaradiationtestfacilitycanprovideinformationfromwhichtheabsorbeddoseinamaterialofinterestcanbeinferred.Undercertainprescribedconditions,TLDsarequitesuitableforperformingsuchmeasurements.Note28212;Forcomprehensivediscussionsofvariousdosimetrymethodsapplicabletotheradiationtypesandenergyandabsorbeddose-raterangediscussedinthispractice,seeICRUReports14,17,21,and34.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresfortheuseofthermoluminescencedosimeters(TLDs)todeterminetheabsorbeddoseinamaterialirradiatedbyionizingradiation.Althoughsomeelementsoftheprocedureshavebroaderapplication,thespecificareaofconcernisradiation-hardnesstestingofelectronicdevices.Thispracticeisapplicabletothemeasurementofabsorbeddoseinmaterialsirradiatedbygammarays,Xrays,andelectronsofenergiesfrom12to60MeV.Specificenergylimitsarecoveredinappropriatesectionsdescribingspecificapplicationsoftheprocedures.Therangeofabsorbeddosecoveredisapproximatelyfrom10x2212;2to104Gy(1to106rad),andtherangeofabsorbeddoseratesisapproximatelyfrom10x2212;2to1010Gy/s(1to1012rad/s).Absorbeddoseandabsorbeddose-ratemeasurementsinmaterialssubjectedtoneutronirradiationarenotcoveredinthispractice.Further,theportionoftheseproceduresthatdealwithelectronirradiationareprimarilyintendedforuseinpartstesting.Testingofdevicesasapartofmoremassivecomponentssuchaselectronicsboardsorboxesmayrequiretechniquesoutsidethescopeofthispractice.Note18212;Thepurposeoftheupperandlowerlimitsontheenergyforelectronirradiationistoapproachalimitingcasewheredosimetryissimplified.Specifically,thedosimetrymethodologyspecifiedrequiresthatthefollowingthreelimitingconditionsbeapproached:(a)energylossoftheprimaryelectronsissmall,(b)secondaryelectronsarelargelystoppedwithinthedosimeter,and(c)bremsstrahlungradiationgeneratedbytheprimaryelectronsislargelylost.1.2Thisstandarddosenotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
