【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscovertestsonsmallclearspecimensofwoodthataremadetoprovidethefollowing:Dataforcomparingthemechanicalpropertiesofvariousspecies,Datafortheestablishmentofcorrectstrengthfunctions,whichinconjunctionwithresultsoftestsoftimbersinstructuralsizes(seeTestMethodsD198andTestMethodsD4761),affordabasisforestablishingallowablestresses,andDatatodeterminetheinfluenceonthemechanicalpropertiesofsuchfactorsasdensity,localityofgrowth,positionincrosssection,heightoftimberinthetree,changeofpropertieswithseasoningortreatmentwithchemicals,andchangefromsapwoodtoheartwood.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofvariousstrengthandrelatedpropertiesofwoodbytestingsmallclearspecimens.1.1.1Thesetestmethodsrepresentproceduresforevaluatingthedifferentmechanicalandphysicalproperties,controllingfactorssuchasspecimensize,moisturecontent,temperature,andrateofloading.1.1.2SamplingandcollectionofmaterialisdiscussedinPracticeD5536.Sampledata,computationsheets,andcardshavebeenincorporated,whichwereofassistancetotheinvestigatorinsystematizingrecords.1.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Whenaweightisprescribed,thebasicinch-poundunitofweight(lbf)andthebasicSIunitofmass(Kg)arecited.1.2Theproceduresforthevarioustestsappearinthefollowingorder:
